Keith Johnson

Jenny Knisely, PDGA State Coordinator, Northern California wrote to us last night with the following news:

Last night Keith Johnson took his life. Keith has been a big part of the Orangevale Disc Golf Community and a dear friend and we will miss him deeply. No funeral service will be held, but there will be an informal memorial at the Orangevale Course on Monday September 3rd @ 9:00 AM. This is a way for fellow disc golfers to say goodbye to a very special friend.

NorCal Representing at 2007 PDGA World Championships

NorCal's finest are tearing it up in Highbridge, Wisconsin this week. You can check out all the scores and great coverage at PDGA.com while below are just some of the highlights from our local boys and girls.

After three rounds, we've got Delaveaga's own Nate Doss leading the Open division by three strokes. Nate is gunning for his second World Championship title in three years. Keep up the great shooting Nate! Just three strokes back of Nate is Sacramento's Josh Anthon and only four more back of him sits Kyle Crabtree.

Carrie Berlogar and Kathy Manley are holding their own in the Women's division. Kathy got off to a fantastic start but fell back a little bit today and is currently in 7th place, while Burl is playing consistent, steady golf and is now in 5th place.

In the Master's division, Orangevale's Jim Oates trails Brad Hammock by only one stroke. Could this be Jim's year? Let's hope so!

2006 United States Master Women's Champion and Two-Time PDGA World Master Women's Champion Anni Kreml is once again the one to beat in the Master women's division this year as she's built herself a comfortable 8 stroke lead.

Stockton's Kenny Lee is currently in 4th place in the Grandmaster division at -8.

Stay tuned for more exciting action from Wisconsin in the days ahead and keep rooting for the men and women of NorCal!
